Description:
The stated goals of this invention is to provide a switch for a portable tool that takes minimal effort to activate and that snaps from "off" to "on" all at once and with minimal arcing.

At the time, the inventor may have been working for Hisey-Wolf Machine Co., which made handheld power tools among its products. In 1915 he was among the incorporators of a short-lived maker of benchtop drill presses, the Gordon Machine Co.
