Vintage Machinery entry for Wells Mfg. Corp; W. F. Wells, Inc.
Description:
The invention is a meat-cutting bandsaw. This saw was the genesis of the Wells Manufacturing Corp., which would later become the first maker of horizontal metal-cutting bandsaws. William F. Wells would sell that business and in 1948 establish a new business, W. F. Wells & Son, to also make metal cutting bandsaws. In 1991 the owners of the Wells Manufacturing Corp. acquired W. F. Wells & Son and merged the two businesses under the name of W. F. Wells, Inc.
