Description:
The machine is a major revision of the specialized drop forge patented by Loring and A.G. Coes July 31, 1860 (Patent NO. 29360). The patent includes a complete revision of the bottom anvil section, makes provision for adjusting for wear and clearing of trimmings and scale, and introduces the use of chilled cast iron for several wearing portions of the mechanism.
