| The patent is for the intermediate locking plate which holds the pivot stud in whichever of the slots it is placed. An early example marked "BLEDSOE / Y.M. BLEDSOE BONHAM TEXAS / PAT 5-22-1917" and later production marked with the BLEDSOE logo and patent date are known.
The single pivot point BLEDSOE TRADE MARK MINNEAPOLIS PAT. PENDING pliers wrench has an overall generally similar shape. BLEDSOE three-position slip-joint pliers without this patented locking feature were also produced.
