Description: |
| While this screw is not a tool in and of itself, it has been found on several other tools which are sometimes marked with this patent date. Most notable of these is the Callaghan patent linoleum scriber (2,287,601 - 6/23/1942).
The patent itself covers a simple machine screw, with a flat piece of sheet steel welded into the slot to act as a thumbscrew. The inventor claims it is cheaper to produce, and stronger than a traditional thumbscrew. |
