Description:
This patent parallels another Jones lock release mechanism (patent no. 2,514,130). In this patent, the lock release is a supplemental lever pivoted from the handle with the size adjusting screw. The patent presents a couple of alternate forms for this type of lock release lever.

The patent drawing also shows a pin extending from the toggle link into the size adjusting screw.

Known example marked "LEVER JAW - PAT. NO. 2592807 - USA - 401 METCOID" does not have a lock release. It does have the rod from the toggle link extending into the hollow adjusting screw. A 1954 Metal Engineering Co. (METCOID) ad shows this patent number and a LEVER JAW plier wrench with handle structure resembling that in patent no. 2,705,899.

A Seymour Smith SNAPLOCK No. 2610 locking pliers has the lock release lever positioned as shown in this patent although the tool is marked with Jones's previous lock release patent no. 2,514,130.

The specifications also cite patent nos. 2,443,153, 2,462,709, 2,487,281, 2,489,895, 2,500,261, and 2,523,385 as references. Cited as a reference in patent nos. 2,799,195 and 2,966,818.
