Description:
This patent is for an adjusting sleeve improvement to Merrick 1835 Patent 9030X and similar screw wrenches. The sleeve extends the adjusting nut and protects the shank threads from dirt and physical damage. The wood portion of handles is correspondingly slender for the length of adjustment travel. This adjusting sleeve was a standard option on Bemis & Call wrenches for the remainder of the company's history.
