"When is a ratchet not a ratchet" - papawswrench
|
Description: |
The end of the handle is knurled, has a square socket, and a transverse hole to accomodate a rod. The knurled portion turns an internal shaft geared to the stud. The physical appearance is similar to a ratchet wrench. The wrench head where a ratchet would normally be found holds a bearing block and beveled gears. The gearing is such that a ratchet-like action can be obtained by swinging the handle while grabbing and releasing the knurled end portion. Or a rod, ratchet wrench or breaker bar can be used to "power" the shaft. Marketed as REECHET Pat. 2,594,669. |
