Description:
According to the 1873 "Subject-matter index of patents for inventions issued by the United States Patent Office", this patent was granted an extension.

According to the EAIA "Directory of American Toolmakers", "Fray was reported by his own name only, with the 'Co.', and with '& Co.'. He was also part of Fray & Pigg at some time. Besides making the Spofford patent (1 Nov. 1859, 25,984) brace, Fray had patents himself for a brace attachment (11 May 1869, 89,925) and a bit brace (20 Aug. 1872, 130,709). He made another brace with an 8 Jan 1889 patent (395,889).
