Description: |
| The jaw adjusts to size by an adjusting knurl. The knurl shares its axle with a sliding block. The block has a notch which engages with a lug on the pivoting handle. Springs at both ends of the axle keep the sliding block and adjusting knurl in contact, and tend to move the adjustable jaw "closed." In use, the rocking motion of the head in relation to the handle allows the jaws to open sufficiently for "ratchet" action on hexagonal nuts.
Produced as the BESSEY.
The specifications cite one British patent and U.S. patents 573,070, 1,171,939, 1,371,679, 1,523,808, and 2,562,060 as references. |
