The body and adjustable jaw are formed of stampings; the sides of the body are additional stampings riveted to the loop-shaped body frame. Produced by Lavigne & Scott as the SANDOW; also produced as the EUREKA by the Eureka Mfg. Co of Chicago.

A version with the folded sheet metal cover extending the full length of the handle was marketed by Lavigne & Scott as the PROTECTION.

Parallel pat. no. 533,712 is another approach which is not known to have been produced.
