Description:
A toggle lever in the movable jaw operates a pawl with fine teeth that engage fine teeth on the shank. The toggle lever has a spring which acts to engage the rack teeth. The central groove in the toothed face of the shank is for the pivot stud on the toggle lever. It is an improvement on Boozer's earlier patent (no. 686,437).

Known example from New England region marked "BOOZER'S PATENT JULY 1, 1902."
