Description:
The patent involves cylindrical or spherical inserts in the main shank of a Coes wrench which function as an alternate to the "rosette retaining notch." The adjusting "rosette" is notched or grooved to accomodate the insert. A parallel patent (no. 705875) has a metal pin serving the same function.

This feature appears on 12 in. and larger Coes Steel Handle wrenches. It is described on pg. 77 of Herb Page's book, "The Brothers Coes and Their Legacy of Wrenches." (2005)
