Description:
A cam-action extension on the handle operates a movable jaw in relation to the fixed jaw. Two alternate jaw forms are shown. Both forms appear with the marking "ALLEN WRENCH / PAT APPLD." The simpler "alligator wrench" form is nominal 8 inch; the "hook jaw" form is nominal 18 inch; a 1903 trade announcement listed three sizes (8 inch, 14 inch and 24 inch.)

Norwall Mfg. produced steam related products with the "ALLEN" brand name.

Corresponding British patent GB-190322699 was registered Oct. 20, 1903.
