"This invention relates to improvements in wrenches of that type embodying, essentially, a shank provided with a suitable handle and having a nut-receiving socket..." -- from the specifications.

The socket head has an exterior extensible section to provide two sizes. Bousser's ads in 1907 issues of AMERICAN MILLER highlighted the tool's use in grain elevators and mills.
