Description:
A movable jaw at right angle to the handle is adjusted by a cam wheel and the adjustment held by a spring pawl. Goodin patented a "monkey wrench" with a similar cam wheel adjustment on Sept. 29, 1868 (pat. no. 82513).

The nail claw handle end shown in the patent drawing is mentioned in the specifications.
