Description: |
| The internally threaded adjusting nut engages thread cut on the shank of the wrench. The adjusting nut attaches to the moveable jaw with a strap. This is the first U.S. Screw adjust wrench patent. Reissued 17 May 1842; Extended 7 years from 17 August 1849 ; Renewed 2nd time 25 November 1851.
The wrench based on this patent and subsequent modifications was produced into the mid-20th Century. |
