Description:
This wedge-adjust wrench is an improvement on Long's April 17, 1906 patent (no. 818,180). The 1906 patent has one jaw face on the sliding yoke, and the other on a wedge-shaped movable element. This 1908 patent has one jaw face on a wedge-shaped movable element, and the other jaw face on the handle element. Long's April 26, 1910 patent (no. 955,974) is a further refinement.

The Rogers Printz & Co. version was marketed as ARPECO. Standard Wrench & Tool Co.'s brand was FITZ-ALL.

Close examination of the FITZ-ALL pipe wrench invites comparison to William H.J. Fitzgerald's Oct. 3, 1911 patent no. 1,004,561, even though the FITZ-ALL pipe wrenches are marked with Long's 1908 and 1910 patent dates.

Standard Wrench & Tool Co. sold in a bankruptcy auction in 1913.
