Description: |
Adjustable alligator wrench with one fixed and one moveable jaw. Probably the commonest of the adjustable alligator wrenches. Extant examples have solid handles rather than the open loop handle shown in the patent drawings, and the earliest hardware trade announcements. Most extant examples have handle modifications that go with Smith & Frenk's January 9, 1906 die holder attachment (Pat. No. 809,755).
Late production includes mark for patent date May 20, 1913 which refers to patent no.1,062,047.
The W&B BULL TERRIER (pat. no. 670,681) and Charles Bonney's patent (no. 728,842) were also-ran competitors. |
