| Description: |  | A socket wrench connected by gears to a shank designed to be driven by a bit-brace. The intended use is to tighten the nuts on small bolts holding iron tires on buggy, carriage and wagon wheels. The exposed gear version shown in the patent is known; most extant examples are a later version with the gears enclosed.
