Description:
Design and scale allows all the necessary calculations to be read from the rule instead of having to write down the specific measurements and then perform the calculations. Specifically the guage shows: head diameter; bung diameter; the difference of the two; the amount to be added to the head; and adds the difference to the head and shows the mean diameter.

This patent was incorporated with McKean's patent, 105352, on Stanley's "Wine Cask Gauging Rod and Calipers" offered from approximately 1870-1890.
