The specification says that the patent is assigned to "Chamberlain & Hunt" but we have found no evidence for any such partnership. The 1854 "Journal of the Franklin Institute", in reporting on this patent, says, "Dexter H. Chamberlain, assignor to himself and Nehemiah Hunt, Boston, Massachusetts."
