Description:
This hand-powered machine can do mortising, tenoning, drilling, and sawing. A later version, not patented, was also able to do planing.

R. L. Polk's Indianapolis City Directory for 1881 listed this inventor as a carpenter residing at 288 E. Merrill. The inventor exhibited his "Hand Traversing Machine" as a planer at the Indiana State Fair in 1884.
