Description: |
The main feature is the sliding jaw block moved by a lever handle. A spring between the lever handle and the main sleeve handle relaxes the jaw grip. The patent presents alternative adjusting means for the hook jaw -- a threaded shank with adjusting nut, or a sliding sleeve with holes, holes in the extended shank of the hook jaw, and a pin to select the adjustment. The jaw faces could be smooth or have some gripping texture.
The specifications note a parallel Australian patent application through an assignee -- Archie Robert Gordon. |
