Description:
The set holder uses "tongues" bent up from the base to position each of the sockets, provide a stop to hold the ratchet in place, and divide off the compartment for the "L" shaped handle. The pieces are held in position by spring tension of a latch wire which swings on one end of the case and hooks into a slot in the other end.

The set without a ratchet, and having the wire formed in multiple curves to match the socket sizes received patent no. 1,760,799 on May 27, 1930, even though both patent applications were filed at the same time.
