Description:
Abstract:

This invention relates to a combined jack and rim tool and has for its object the provision of an efficient jack which may be used not only for lifting purposes but also as a means for quickly and easily removing a rim from the tire.

It is also an object of this invention to provide a jack, which may be positioned under the member to be lifted without necessitating the operator’s getting down into an uncomfortable and inconvenient position.

It is further an important object of this invention to provide a jack, which has a removable base plate.

It is also an important object of this invention to provide as combined jack and rim tool which is simple and which may be economically manufactured and easily operated.

Claims:

In a rim tool, a frame comprising a substantially elongated sleeve, a threaded member i normally housed within said sleeve and arranged for extensible and retractable movement with respect to the sleeve, being substantially co-extensive with the sleeve when in retracted position, co-operating means formed in the sleeve and at one end of said member for preventing the relative rotation of the member with respect to the sleeve during the extensible and retractable movements of the member within the sleeve said member having a rim engaging portion at its opposite end, means carried at one end of said sleeve for effecting extensible and retractable movements of the member within the sleeve and rim engaging arms pivoted to said sleeve at points intermediate its ends.
