Description:
Side plates hold the pivots for the lever handles, and cutting jaws. The connection between the cutter jaws and lever handles is described as "ball and socket."

This patent and a Jan. 13, 1891 patent date (i.e. pat. no. 444,635) are shown in the illustration for the HELWIG BOLT & RIVET CUTTER offered to the trade by the HELWIG MFG. CO. of St. Paul, Minn. in 1895.
