Description:
Nova Scotia (NS) patents were issued between 1834 and 1867, when they joined with Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada.

"The fat or blubber or flesh is enclosed in bags or cloths and pressed in a hydraulic or other press so the oil cells are burst... the oil exudes into vats and the remaining fibre is manufactured into glue and gelatin..."
