Description:
Threaded conical tip applied to a hammer, monkey wrench, hatchet, etc. As the title implies, this would be driven & twisted into a wooden surface to provide a hitching point to prevent horses from walking away. It also would serve as a hoof pick.

Corresponding U.S. patent 418,541 was granted Dec. 31, 1889.
