Description:
The primary focus of this patent is on the "horseshoe" shaped magnetic portion of the hammer. Robertston claims this allows for a stronger magnet to hold larger nails, or smaller brads/tacks more securely, than provided by earlier "bar" type magnetic hammers. He also refers to the horseshoe magnet feature in a 1902 patent (710615).
