Description:
"This invention ... consists in a compound-lever attachment by which a gripping-plate pivotally affixed upon the movable jaw is to be actuated and pressed more firmly against the object to be grasped."

8, 10, and 12-inch sizes advertised in the January 1893 "Machinists' Price Current" as Franklin's Never-Slip Wrench.

A known example is the jaw and lever, separate from a wrench frame. The jaw is set up as a pipe grip rather than the smooth nut wrench jaw shown in the patent drawings.
