Description:
The geometry and interaction between between the fixed and movable jaws allows gripping of opposite faces of square, hexagonal and octagonal objects. The inner set of bearing surfaces is for "torqueing." The outer set of bearing surfaces is for "ratchet action."

The specifications note patent nos. 3,757,614, 3,850,057, and 3,881,377 as references.

Patent protection for only 15 years.

Known example in original packaging marked on one side "EVANS T&R WRENCHES" with illustration of torqueing and ratcheting function and the patent number. The other side is marked "THE CHARLY(tm) WRENCH PORTLAND OREGON 97214". CHARLY WRENCH was a trade mark used by Beverage Equipment Company from 1978 to 1985.
