Description:
This is an improvement of Evans' earlier circular plane patent 34248. It claims the curved connecting rods as the improvement. The connecting rods are the parts that connect the flexible sole to the stock. The earlier patent had straight connecting rods.

According to the History of Stanley Rule & Level Co. written by James Burdick c. 1930, this patent was never used. However, the curved connecting rods were used by both R. H. Mitchell and Darling & Shwartz.
