Description:
The invention relates to sleeve bearings with integral thrust-bearing surface. If such a bearing is not adequately lubricated, the resulting wear will increase axial play which will allow knocking noises to occur, which are especially objectionable in applications where quiet operation is required. The innovation is to use an oil passage with wick to convey oil to the thrus bearing. The small size of the bearing only permits a small hole, which normally is ineffective in conveying oil, but the wick pulls the oil through the small passage.
