Description:
The patent is for the frame which allows an adjustable jaw to be shifted to emerge from the end or side of the frame, the related holder for the adjusting ring, and the gripping jaw insert with gripping surfaces on two faces. Corresponding British patent GB-189102421 was registered Feb. 10, 1891; German patent DE-64523 was granted with effective date Nov. 17, 1891.

Used in combination with the Sidney Cook April 23, 1889 patent (no. 401,819) in the LOWNES pipe wrench. Lownes obtained a subsequent patent for another variation (no. 588,751 granted August 24, 1897).
