Description:
According to Kenneth Cope's book, Makers of American Machinist's Tools, This was one of the first patents that Laroy S. Starrett had. The Washing Machine was probably made by the Athol Machine Co. Mr. Starrett went on to found the L. S. Starrett Co. of Athol, MA. which is today one of the largest manufacturers of precision machinist hand tools. Note that the name on the patent is spelled Leroy instead of Laroy.
