This invention is a cast iron surface with means to hold a sheet of sandpaper stretched across it. To flatten the working surface of the plane, one would place the plane face down on the sandpaper and move it back and forth. Modern Flat Sole Society members would refer to this as a ScaryLap table. In PTAMPIA1, Roger Smith says a machine like this is not known.
