Description:
The adjusting sleeve on the movable jaw engages rack teeth on one side of the main shank. The sleeve threads are partial, so that when the sleeve is turned enough to disengage the threads the movable jaw is free to slide.

Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-43,200 was issued June 10, 1893.
