| This is an improvement on Johnson's Sept. 22, 1891 patent (no. 460,015). The adjustable jaw bit is marked with a size scale, and is reversible. The hook jaw has a pivotal connection to its handle, with a notch that is the bearing point for a spur of the other handle which adds gripping force to the overall operation.
The adjustable jaw bit was carried over into Johnson's hook jaw pipe wrench patent (no. 737,847). |
