Description:
Most of the patents prior to 1836 were lost in the Dec. 1836 fire. Only about 2,000 of the almost 10,000 documents were recovered. Little is known about this patent. There are no patent drawings available. This patent is in the database for reference only.

“The main objects proposed in this rail-way, are:

1st, the rollers employed are not made to depend upon their gudgeons, but roll upon the ground rail, being merely confined in their places by their gudgeons; and 2ndly, there being lateral or cross rails, on either side of the main rail-way, for the purpose of receiving a vessel, so that a second or a third may be drawn up. The parts are not clearly explained, either in the description or by means of the drawings.”
