Description:
The rocking link in the movable jaw engages fine rack teeth on the main shank to hold adjustment. A slide and locking lever either hold the rocking link in "adjustment lock" or relax to allow the link to move back which frees the movable jaw to slide and reposition.

The patent received a "write-up" in the Jan. 9, 1897 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.
