Description:
This patent is not for a marking gage, but rather for a method of tightening gage heads that could be used on a marking gage or similar tool.

The idea here is fairly simple-- a bent level rides in a tight slot such that it forces the side of the slot into the gage arm. These would be cheap to produce, and probably would work well.
