Description: |
| Combination tool with adjustable wrench for axle nuts, which can be used to prop a carriage axle while the wheel is removed, and which operates as a "jack" to hold the wheel and axle while the hub is cleaned and lubricated. The portion holding the adjustable jaw slides on a frame and clamps to that frame with a set screw so the overall length / height is adjustable.
This evolved from earlier versions in patent nos. 530,109 and 601,147.
An example conforming primarily to this patent, but including the "hammer" feature in patent no. 601,147 was sold on the mjdtools 2018 mid-summer auction. It is marked "20th CENTURY PAT. MAR. 22, 1898." |
