Description:
The fulcrum pin is on a spring so it can be pulled back to employ one of several pivot holes in the other jaw.

The example of Brown's pipe tongs shown as picture #738 in "Antique & Unusual Wrenches," by Schulzes matches patent no. 150,131, although this patent is cited there. Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" gives Brown as the manufacturer.
