This pipe wrench uses a spring-tensioned hook on the side. The specifications recognize the similarity between this patent and Mark Alcutt's Dec. 16, 1856 cant hook patent (no. 16,222).

Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes the patent and implies Keeler produced the wrench at Greenwich, CT.
