An example was reported, marked only with the patent date. Farley & Loetscher Manufacturing Co. of Dubuque was, at the time, one of the larger mill working plants in the country. Andrew A. Loetscher, born in Switzerland in 1857, was a vice-president of the company.

1914 issues of Wood Craft carried small ads: "This is what users say about the NOXALL after experimenting with other column clamps: 'Easier, Quicker, Always Reliable, More Power' Just the thing for clamping pedestals, etc., in table and furniture factories. 40,000 NOXALL'S Sold... Manufactured by A. A. Loetscher, Dubuque, Ia. Austin & Eddy, Selling Agents, Chicago and Boston".
