Description:
A rotable, adjustable jaw section mounted on a ratcheting head. Smith's patent eventually was assigned to James C. Hawes of Brooklyn, who added refinements which received patent no. 1,050,131 (Jan. 14, 1913). That design was produced and marketed; it is a "major wrench collector's milestone."
