Vintage Machinery entry for T. R. Bailey & Vail
Description:
An 1855 ad from Spalding's Machine Shop mentions "Baily's Broom Handle Lathe, Self-centering and Self-releasing—used for Rake and Hoe Handles, Chair stuff, &c.—the best Lathe in America—warranted to do twice the work of any other in use. Price, $100 to $125, complete." Nearly two decades later, in 1874, an ad from T. R. Bailey & Vail featured this lathe.
