Description: |
| "The essential features of novelty in this invention consist in pivoting a loose jaw upon a stationary one, said jaws being provided with angular or saw-tooth shaped projections, that are intended to unseat the corn from the cob..." An elastic band or spring closes the jaws. The corn ear was twisted and forced into the teeth by hand. Middleton subsequently received patent no. 105,825 which was presented as an improvement on this patent.
