Description: |
The design is very subtly different than the Joseph B. Boos patent of the same date (D130,015). This design has a thickened "collar" where the adjustable jaw emerges from the frame; the Boos design has the frame formed from a flat stamping without reinforcing.
SUPER SERVICE MFG. CO. K.C. MO. PAT. PENDING angle jaw nut wrenches correspond to this design.
SUPER SERVICE and BOOS wrenches in Alfred Egbers' collection shown on pg. 63 of Marvin Wullweber's "Antique Wrench Book" are shown in the 2nd photo.
Alfred R. Fuchs was the patent attorney for both the Hawkins and Boos patents. |
